Leon Ono (b. 2002) was born in Tokyo, Japan. He studies in the United States and seeks opportunities to photograph the world.
His photographs are often abstract but strong and incorporate geometry, contrast, and moments of life.
Life could be eventful, but everyday life seems dull. The mundane, repetitive everyday life is what we tend to ignore. Commuting to work, going to class, walking down the street, we don’t pay attention to the moments that are unfolding in front of us. There are always scenes that convey the elements that seem unrelated or fragmented, but by putting a frame around them, suddenly a magical and emotional, or relatable images appear.
Wandering around with nothing particular in mind to photograph may seem strange, but when that bit of magic happens, it becomes the most natural and wonderful thing to do.
